The purpose of reading is comprehension getting meaning from written text. A major goal of reading comprehension instruction,
is to help students develop the knowledge, skills, and experiences they must have if they are to become confident and competent readers.
Raising the Bar2 meets the reading needs of student by creating an individual learning plan, progression is measured, and is used to adjust
their pace ensuring the reader is challenged but never overwhelmed.
Raising the Bar2 helps the student to comprehension, understand, and interpret what they read, in an environment that is challenging, yet fun and festive.
Students will learn to:
(1) accurately understand written material,
(2) decode what they read;
(3) make connections between what they read and what they already know; and
(4) think deeply about what they have read.
