- In 2013, Emily was a Sophomore (10th-grade), bilingual Dominican-American student at the National Academy Foundation High School, Academy of Engineering.
- She struggled in English II literature, annotations, and reading comprehension. With a GPA of 2.2, and requested the services of MJAllen Ministries, LLC, near the end of the 1st Quarter November 2013.
- A strategic plan was developed. It included study skills, project planning, and time management skills. In the 1st Quarter of her Junior year (2014), Emily took English III, and her confidence and grades improved.
- To provide further support to Emily, in June 2014, Dr. Allen helped her enroll in the 18th Annual Summer Transportation Institute (STI) sponsored by Morgan State University. The STI shows high school students how a strong foundation in math and science can lead to lucrative careers in the transportation industry. An Awards Banquet was held on July 25, 2014.
- During the 1st Quarter of the 11th grade (2014), Emily took Honors Digital Electronics and Honors Civil Engineering. To aide, her studies, MJAllen Ministries, LLC underwrote a laptop,
- In the 3rd Quarter of her Junior Year, Emily received a GPA of 3.5 and made the Principal's Roll. NAF held an Academic Awards Night (March 18, 2015) to recognize the achievement.
- In the Senior year (September 2015 - June 2016), Emily took Advanced Placement English Language and Composition.
- Emily graduated in the NAF Class of 2016 (June 4) at a momentous commencement held at Morgan State University.
