  • Dylan C was a 9th-grade student at City Neighbors High School (CNHS).  Due to his dysgraphia and Individualized Education Program, he enrolled in the Dyslexia Tutoring Program from September 2013 to October 2016.        
  • Dysgraphia is a learning disability that affects writing abilities. It can manifest itself as difficulties with spelling, poor handwriting and trouble putting thoughts on paper.      
  • Dysgraphia is a neurological disorder of written expression that impairs writing ability and fine motor skills. It is a learning disability that affects children and adults and interferes with practically all aspects of the writing process, including spelling, legibility, word spacing and sizing, and expression.         
  • Support services were in English Language Arts and enrichment, not limited to reading, writing, vocabulary, spelling, phonemic awareness, multisyllabic words, coding and decoding, comprehension, critical thinking, literature, research, reasoning homework, and POL (Presentations of Learning) projects.  Dr. Allen attended Back-To-School Night and participating in IEP annual review.          
  • In 2014 MJAllen Ministries, LLC funded a laptop and printer to help him advance his education.  Throughout the 9th-11th grade, Dylan received greater independence, to help him further with writing.      
  • Dylan accomplished several milestones, he graduated in the Class of 2017 (held at Morgan State University, Carl J. Murphy Fine Arts Cent (Saturday, June 3, 2017), and received eighty-five percent in scholarships to McDaniel College. He is majoring in Cinema and a minor in Music.        
  • Dylan plans to graduate in the class of 2021.
