- Kyia at times working beneath her potential, was a brilliant student with exceptional academic skills and intellectual capacity. She had been previously held back in the 2nd-grade, but this did not stop her academic momentum; it only drove her harder to succeed.
- Teaching, tutoring, mentoring, and academic coaching support began with her in the 3rd grade when attending Dallas F. Nicholas Senior Elementary School through the 4th and 5th grades 2012-2014).
- It continued after enrollment at Mount Royal Elementary/Middle School (6th through 8th grades).
- Dr. Allen attended Parent-Teacher's meetings, Back-To-School Nights, collected/reviewed her report cards. Throughout the 8th grade (2017-2018), Kyia took Honors Algebra, Honors English Language Arts, Honors, Science, and Honors U.S. History. She received Most Improved Student, Quarterly Honor Roll, First Semester Honor Roll, and Academic Excellence certificates.
- In 2014 MJALLEN MINISTRIES, LLC funded a laptop to help her advance her education. As an aspiring student, Kyia's acceptance into Western High School. Baltimore, MD, was a milestone.
